The annual Catechism day was celebrated at Infant Mary Church, Bajjodi on 13th March 2022 with a solemn Eucharistic mass at 8.15 am. Rev. Fr Ivan D Souza was the main celebrant and Rev. Fr. Michael Shenoy, concelebrant, preached the sermon on “transformation”. All the children actively participated in the liturgy and gave thanks to the lord for all the blessings throughout the year.
After the mass, a small program was arranged to congratulate all the winners of the catechism exam in the church hall at 9:30 am. Rev. Fr. Michael Shenoy, Rev. Fr Patrick Lobo, Rev. Fr Ivan D Souza, Rev. Fr. Rayan Pinto, Mr. Prakash Saldanha, President, Parish Council, Mrs. Irene Pinto, Secretary, Parish Council, Mrs. Stella D Souza, Catechism Coordinator, Parents, Teachers and Children and Youth were present in large numbers for this program.
The Program commenced with a prayer song sung by the 8th Standard students. Mrs. Stella D Souza, Catechism Coordinator, welcomed the gathering and presented a brief report of the Catechism classes and activities conducted throughout the year. On behalf of all the children Mr. Iden Crasta, Student of 10th Standard shared his experience and journey in the catechism class that helped him to gain spiritual knowledge and build his faith. Thereafter, Mrs. Philomena Rasquinha, on behalf of all teachers, shared her views and informed parents and students, some of the things that they need to follow in future.
Rev. Fr. Ivan D Souza, Parish Priest in his message congratulated all the Children for their good performance and teachers for their selfless service. Mrs. Juliet Alva read out the winners list and Rev. Fr. Michael Shenoy distributed the prizes to the children from every class for securing first, second and third place in the catechism exam.
Fr. Patrick Lobo honoured the teachers with gifts for their service throughout the year and also prizes were given to the Altar servers for their highest servings and winners of colouring competition. Mrs. Irene Pinto proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Elizabeth compeered the program. Refreshments were served to all the children and parents.
