Fr. Melvin D’Cunha OCD

Fr. Melvin D’Cunha was born on 28th May, 1967 at Madanthyar, Mangalore. He joined the Carmelite Order (O.C.D.) in 1985 and made his first profession in Margao, Goa on October 15, 1988. He graduated (B.A.) from the Mysore University in 1991. His studies in Philosophy were done in Pusphosrama, Mysore and Theology atSt. Joseph’s Seminary Jeppu, Mangalore.

After the Ordination on April 23, 1996 he served as Assistant Parish Priest at St. Joseph’s Church, Mira Road, Bombay. Later, from 20th Dec, 2000 to 15th Feb, 2010 he served in the Kuwait Vicariate  In September 2006, Fr. Melvin the current Parish Priest of the Holy Family Cathedral, was appointed as the new Superior of the Carmelite Mission in Kuwait, by the Father General of the Carmelite Order in Rome.

Presently he is shouldering the responsibility of building a new Church at Bajjodi, Mangalore dedicated to Infant Mary.
